Clear yellow leaves are bright limey green as they mature on this compact Japanese barberry. The oval 1 inch leaves and needle-sharp spines are held on stiff branches. This selection needs protection from hot sun, and its luminous leaves brighten the shade garden. Fall color is deeper gold with some orange highlights. Thrives in light shade and most soils, with moderate to occasional watering when established.
