Pine bluegrass can be found in many habitats in California. It is also native from Canada through the western United States, with populations in Argentina and Chile. This cool season bunchgrass forms tight clumps of soft blue green leaves to 8-12 inches; flower stems to 24 inches have a pinkish cast, with many dainty purplish flowers. Plants will be dormant with summer drought.
