Low dark green narrow leaves form a dense low clump; spikes of bright blue purple flowers are striking in late spring and summer. This plant was received under the P. speciosus name, but its appearance does not really match that species. But it is an attractive perennial that thrives in mixed plantings in sun, with well drained soil and moderate to occasional watering.
