The cultivar 'Marian Sampson', selected by Ed Sampson at Mourning Cloak Ranch, forms tight mats of small dark leaves, with brilliant red flowers. It is well suited for rock garden and container use. Sun to part shade, well drained soils, occasional watering when established. Hardy to 10 degrees F. or less.
