This sturdy plant has erect nearly evergreen fans of leaves up to 2 feet high, blue-green in color with yellow margins. Branched stems rise well above the foliage in summer, displaying a succession of fragrant 4 inch blossoms which resemble those of the German iris. They are soft lavender-blue overall, with a golden "beard" on each fall. Sun or light shade, well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to 0 degrees F. or less.
