This is one of the few Weigela cultivars still recognized as W. florida, rather than considered a hybrid. It is a little more compact than most weigelas, with strongly purple tinged leaves and deep pink flowers. This is an easily grown shrub, thriving in sun and most soils, with moderate watering.
