Low shrublet has narrow, typically aromatic grey leaves; spring to summer flower stems rise to 18 inches and carry dense clusters of dark blue flowers set over rose pink bracts. This chance hybrid sage appeared in a batch of Salvia pachyphylla seedlings. Salvia sonomensis was near the parent plant and is the likely other parent, based on leaf and habit similarities.
